Driver had twice the legal blood alcohol limit in fatal nail salon crash in Deer Park

Prosecutors say the man accused in the fatal Deer Park nail salon crash had a blood-alcohol level more than twice the legal limit at the time of the crash.

Prosecutors said 64-year-old Steve Schwally had previously admitted to drinking 18 beers the night before the June crash.

Four people, including an NYPD officer and three employees of Hawaii Nail and Spa, were killed.

The prosecution plans to present the case to a grand jury next week, which will consider the enhanced charge of manslaughter in a traffic accident.

Schwally has pleaded not guilty to the drunken driving charge he already faces.
