Belemaoil employs 1,000 youths, empowers 300 women | The Guardian Nigeria News

Belemaoil Producing Limited, an indigenous oil producer in the Niger Delta, has employed 1,000 youths in Kula community in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of ​​Rivers State and other operational communities.

The company also hinted that 50 graduates of various technical skills from Kula and other communities have also been recruited. The Manager, External Relations, Belemaoil Producing Limited, Samuel Abel-Jumbo, disclosed this recently in the Kula community during a special celebration of the company’s President, Jack-Rich Tein Jr.

Jumbo also announced that its Women’s Trade and Economic Empowerment Programme was launched in March this year. The company started empowering about 300 women with the sum of N100,000 per quarter to improve their trade and business.

He added that the company has also constructed 30 apartments for the Nigerian Army in Bayelsa State. The project, a three-storey building, is located at the 16 Brigade Headquarters, Camp Burutai, Yenagoa. The building was inaugurated by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Burutai, barely a year after he broke ground at the same location.

At the inauguration and handover of the 30 units, known as ‘Corporal Below Quarters’, Burutai commended Belemaoil for providing accommodation for soldiers and their families. Speaking on behalf of the Commander, Training and Doctrine Command at the Army Headquarters in Abuja, Major General AA Salihu, he noted that the Army is grateful for the scholarships Belemaoil provides to the children of deceased soldiers and those maimed while on active duty in the defence of the country.

He said: “On behalf of the Brigade and the Nigerian Army, I sincerely thank Belemaoil for constructing 30 Corporal Below Quarters flats for soldiers and their families. We would also like to express our appreciation to Belemaoil for scholarships given to children and wards of deceased officers and those permanently injured in fighting in various parts of our country.”

The military is helping to protect the general area of ​​OML-55 operated by Belemaoil in Rivers State. Belemaoil Producing Ltd Director, Production and Engineering, Ing. Mufaa Welsh, who represented the company’s Founder/President, Ing. Jack-Rich Tein Jr., said the gesture was a token of appreciation for the military’s efforts in securing its oil facilities and providing security along the waterways within its operational corridors.

The Bayelsa State Governor, represented by the Deputy Governor, Rear Admiral John Jonah (Rtd), said the 30 apartments, being provided by the local oil company, Belemaoil, will improve the quality of life of the soldiers and their families.
