Welcome to day one of the paultan.org Electric Vehicle Expo (EVx 2024) is currently taking place at the Setia City Convention Centre in Setia Alam, Selangor, and will run until the weekend of July 20-21. It is a hub for all things EV in Malaysia, from charging service providers, accessories and of course electric vehicles.

During the third edition of EVx, Hyundai will be showcasing the battery-electric models Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6. When booking a Hyundai electric vehicle at the expo, you will receive a free Samsung Music Frame, plus one of the following extras:

  • Interest rates as low as 1.28%
  • A free 11 kW wallbox charger
  • Insurance subsidy

Better yet, there’s more to win with your Hyundai EV purchase at EVx 2024. Every Hyundai EV booking at the expo qualifies the customer for a four-night, three-night trip for two to Korea* on a business class flight, and this includes a tour of Hyundai Motorstudio Goyang. The kind of win that’s sure to put a swing in anyone’s step.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 are no strangers to awards, having won the ‘World Car of the Year’ and ‘World Electric Vehicle of the Year’ awards. Both cars won both awards in 2022 and 2023 respectively.

The Ioniq 5 features a battery pack with a capacity of up to 72.6 kWh, good for a range of up to 430 km according to the WLTP test cycle. The 800-volt electrical architecture is still rare in Malaysia, allowing 350 kW DC charging to achieve 10-80% charge in just 18 minutes. The Ioniq 5 has a 3.6 kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) facility for powering external electrical devices. You can see this here with free coffee at the Hyundai stand, powered by an Ioniq 5.

Like the Ioniq 5, the Ioniq 6 also features the 800-volt electrical architecture and thus the ability to handle 350 kW DC fast charging as well as offer 3.6 kW V2L electrical output. Equipped with a larger, 77.4 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery and a striking design with a drag coefficient of just 0.21, the Ioniq 6 is capable of up to 614 km (WLTP) on a single charge.

As mentioned, in addition to the electric cars on display, there will also be on-site test drives, and charging point operators and solution providers will be on hand should you have any questions about anything related to electric vehicles. paultan.org EVx 2024 is now underway at the Setia City Convention Centre this weekend, from 9am to 7pm. Admission is free.

*Upon successful registration of the vehicle before August 15, 2024. Terms and conditions apply.
