Nepal Law Commission Secretary Adhikari Resigns

KATHMANDU, July 20: Nepal Judicial Service Secretary Toya Nath Adhikari has resigned. Though he was scheduled to retire on December 13 at the age of 58, Adhikari chose to step down five months early.

Adhikari is currently serving as Secretary at the Nepal Law Commission. His resignation has been accepted by the cabinet.

Sources indicated that Adhikari decided to step down due to the prolonged stagnation in the commissions after his promotion to secretary, which lasted three-and-a-half years. He was earlier secretary of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

Adhikari joined the government in 2050 BS and will end a 31-year career with his retirement on Sunday.
