VA Marks Two Years of Improved Use of 988 Helpline – The Presidential Prayer Team
The addition of Pers 1 has increased the number of successful conversations per day by 22.7 percent since 2022.

This week, Veterans Affairs Secretary Denis McDonough highlighted the increased use of the veterans crisis line, announcing that enhanced services have helped more than 1.6 million veterans over the past two years. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) added a Press 1 feature to its 988 emergency line in 2022, a move that increased the number of successful calls per day by 22.7 percent.

“Two years ago, we made it even easier for veterans in crisis and their loved ones to seek help by launching Dial 988 then Press 1,” said Secretary McDonough. “One veteran who commits suicide is one too many. We are supporting more veterans than ever before through the 988 initiative and will not rest in our continued efforts to spread the word that this resource is available and saves lives.”

Pray with us, as the Lord leads us…

  • May Secretary McDonough receive God’s wisdom as he oversees services to protect and assist America’s veterans.
  • For VA officials promoting the helpline to assist veterans and their families experiencing a mental health crisis.
  • That officers in the President’s administration do their duty to those who have served in the armed forces of this country.
