Galesburg girl wins title of Li’l Miss Illinois 2024

There she is, Li’l Miss Illinois. That person is Kynleigh Fox of Galesburg, who was recently named Li’l Miss Illinois 2024 through the Miss Illinois Youth Program.

Stacy Dunham’s daughter Fox recently competed in the pageant as Li’l Miss Knox County. Fox recently turned 9 and is a fourth grader at Galesburg Christian School. Among the activities she had to participate in were a talent show – she danced – and an interview. Fox excelled at both, winning Overall Top Interview.

“What an amazing night. I still believe I’m dreaming,” Fox wrote on her Li’l Miss Illinois Facebook page. “Looking forward to an exciting year ahead.”

Fox will have a platform of responsibilities, Dunham, which will likely include giving to the homeless and spreading awareness about mental health. She enjoys visiting nursing homes and giving away cookies, her mother added.

Fox attends College For Kids at Knox College and is a member of the Jumpin Js Tumbling team in Galesburg. She is also a competitive cheerleader and dancer.

Lia Barraza Sloan of Galesburg came in second in the pageant.
