Balıklıgöl takes a new shape with improvement works


Minister of Environment and Urbanization Murat Kurum concluded his two-day contacts in Şanlıurfa. Minister Kurum, who follows the developments in earthquake-resistant housing and urban transformation, gave the good news that Balıklıgöl will get a new look with landscaping and improvement works.

Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum began his contacts in Şanlıurfa by visiting Governor Hasan Şıldak. After the visit, Minister Murat Kurum attended the funeral of Deputy Provincial Police Chief Zekeriya Baran, who died at home due to illness, and then chaired the coordination meeting held at the Governorship Meeting Hall.

Governor Hasan Şıldak, deputies, senior managers of the ministry, mayors and heads of public institutions attended the meeting where the latest developments regarding the earthquake housing built by TOKİ throughout the province and the situation of the housing built in rural areas, the demolition of moderately damaged buildings, rubble clearance processes and other works were reviewed.

At the end of the meeting, Minister Kurum, together with Governor Hasan Şıldak and the city protocol, went to the Batıkent District Earthquake Residences in the Central Eyyübiye District and inspected the completed and under construction homes. Minister Kurum emphasized that they want everyone to live peacefully alongside their old neighbors when the earthquake homes are completed, saying: “We have completed and handed over a number of homes to our citizens. Lives began here. Happiness began here. Our citizens began to live here in peace and security. Hopefully, we will now complete our remaining homes and workplaces. “Hopefully, we will deliver our homes to our brothers and sisters as soon as possible as we promised,” he said.

After concluding his contacts during the day, Minister Kurum continued the second day’s program with the Comprehensive Coordination Meeting, after spending the night in Şanlıurfa.

Minister Kurum said: “Balıklıgöl will be renewed with the support of our ministry and by hearing the opinions of our scientists. Extensive editorial work will be carried out. “Balıklıgöl Campus will have a new look,” he said.

Governor Hasan Şıldak said that the ministerial institution established very important contacts and made important decisions for the province in general: “It was a very important and productive visit for both urban transformation and earthquake housing as well as the development of our province. “We thank our minister for his special interest in Şanlıurfa,” he said.
