Living in Mumbai, the ‘City of Dreams’, comes at a price, a very high cost of living. Irrespective of the type of home you live in, you will still feel like you have burned a hole in your pocket to afford it. Such is the case of a Zomato delivery boy who shared a video on Instagram of his struggle to survive in a slum in Mumbai’s Bandra West.

Zomato delivery boy shares his struggles in Mumbai

With a monthly rent of ₹500, the video shared by @qb__.07 shows a Zomato delivery boy giving a tour of his home in a slum in Mumbai’s Bandra West. In the video, the man is seen walking down a dimly lit, narrow lane and climbing a steel metal ladder that leads to his small home. It is a small room. The delivery boy’s friend, Sonu Bhai, climbs the ladder to visit his room.

The small room is littered with their belongings. Plastered walls and clothes hanging on clotheslines to dry can be seen. A kitten sits quietly in a corner. The Zomato delivery boy shares the room with his housemates. The film shows them eating Biryani pouches bought for ₹50. At the end of the clip, the man says that he has been suffering from many health issues and his family has incurred a lot of expenses for his treatment. So, he does not want to borrow more money from his family for better housing.

Netizens are cheering him on and suggesting he try modeling

In the caption, he calls himself a struggling artist. He admits that the room is as big as the bathroom in his childhood home. He often shares reels of his experiences delivering food and covers of music, he keeps smiling and motivated despite his difficult circumstances. This reel has been viewed over 2 million times and Netizens filled the comment section with kindness, motivating him to never give up.

Many Instagrammers suggested that he try modeling because he looks “amazing.” “More power to you,” another Netizen commented. Another one enthused him by calling him more beautiful than 1000 BTS (Korean Boy Band) members.
