PrideInn Hotel opens eco-friendly restaurant

NAIROBI, Kenya, July 20 – PrideInn Hotel last night opened an eco-friendly restaurant, Sayari, in support of the government’s sustainability agenda.

The launch is part of the hotel chain’s growth strategy, which follows its rebranding in November last year.

The Sayari restaurant, which means “planet” and is located in the PrideInn Westlands branch, also fits into the company’s long-term strategy to save energy.

Managing Director Hasnain Noorani emphasised the chain’s commitment to environmentally friendly practices, in line with Kenya’s vision of environmental conservation.

“A lot of the materials we use are all environmentally friendly. We have a goal to plant a million trees in our small ways to protect the environment,” he said.

He said PrideInn is creating open spaces to replace air conditioners, which will significantly reduce the chain’s energy consumption.

In addition, the hotel group is working on a solar energy project to supplement energy sources and is phasing out the use of plastic in its buildings.

“As a company, we feel it is our responsibility as Kenyans to work towards sustainability. We want to be a company that cares about the environment,” he added.

Restaurant Sayari offers a varied range of dishes throughout the day.
