Bruce Springsteen is officially a billionaire, according to Forbes magazine. The legendary American musician who became the voice of rock ‘n’ roll for the working class is now worth $1.1 billion, according to the magazine’s “conservative” estimate.

Springsteen has amassed most of that wealth in recent years. In 2021, he sold his entire music catalog, which he’s been building up for decades and which includes more than 300 songs across 20 studio albums and other releases, to Sony for a whopping $500 million to $550 million. It’s the largest deal in terms of music catalog sales, nearly double the previous record set by Universal when it paid $300 million for Bob Dylan’s catalog in December 2020.

At 74, Springsteen continues to tour extensively, earning him a lot of money. Pollstar reported that Springsteen sold more than 1.6 million concert tickets in 2023, generating $380 million in revenue.

Born and raised in a working-class family in New Jersey, Springsteen is one of the most respected rock musicians of his generation. He is known for his songs that chronicle the everyday lives of the common man and his marathon concerts. Since his debut album “Greetings From Asbury Park, NJ” in 1973, he has become one of the best-selling musicians of all time, with more than 71 million albums sold in America and 140 million worldwide. His biggest hits include “Born To Run”, “Thunder Road”, “I’m On Fire” and “Dancing in the Dark”.

He won 20 Grammy Awards, an Oscar for Best Original Song, and a special Tony Award.
