Midland Air Ambulance held thank you marathon

The charity MIDLANDS Air Ambulance organised a thank you marathon in honour of National Thanksgiving Day.

The emergency service, which covers Herefordshire and Worcestershire, showed its gratitude to its supporters on National Thanksgiving Day (7 July).

This day was dedicated to appreciating the kindness of people and businesses in local communities.

The charity’s crew, staff and volunteers contacted over 28,000 supporters to show their appreciation.

July 7 marked National Thanksgiving Day, with millions of people across the UK gathering to celebrate and give thanks to humanity.

Emma Wood, Head of Fundraising and Engagement at Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: “We are incredibly grateful for the continued support we receive from the communities we serve.

“Whether it’s our kind donors, volunteers, local businesses or community groups, we are always so humbled by the generosity shown to our cause.

“While we thank our supporters in different ways throughout the year, the special Thank-A-Thon was a great way to collectively show our gratitude and thank all of the amazing people who enable our crews to save lives and provide critical care to those in need.”

Ryan James, intensive care paramedic, added: “Our team responds to an average of 12 incidents every day and it is only thanks to our incredible supporters that we are able to help people in urgent need across the six counties we cover.

“I was moved by the experience of calling our generous donors and speaking with some of the amazing people who make our lifesaving missions possible.”
