High school gets media center makeover
The transformation of the media centers is part of Orange Bowl’s commitment to improving the South Florida community.

The Orange Bowl Committee has announced that three South Florida high schools will undergo a transformative renovation of their learning center as part of the Media Center Makeover Project. The goal is to revitalize educational spaces and reimagine the student learning experience for years to come.

One of the schools is Cutler Ridge Elementary in Miami-Dade County.

The Orange Bowl Media Center Makeover Project, led by Extra Yard for Teachers, provides innovative learning environments that inspire creativity, collaboration and academic excellence. The upgraded facilities feature state-of-the-art technology, an extensive selection of resources and ergonomic furniture, and flexible seating arrangements to ensure comfort and adaptability for a variety of learning needs.

The transformation of these media centers is part of Orange Bowl’s commitment to improving the South Florida community and its residents. The impact of these renovations is expected to be profound and far-reaching.

“The Orange Bowl Committee is committed to enriching the lives of students through impactful educational initiatives,” said Bradley D. Houser, president and chair of the Orange Bowl Committee. “By investing in these enhanced media centers, we aim to provide students with the tools and environments necessary to thrive academically and prepare for future success.”

The Orange Bowl Media Center Makeover Project, made possible by Extra Yard for Teachers, is made possible in part by generous sponsors including Amazon, Cinch Home Services, Comcast, Ernst & Young, Florida Lottery, GA Telesis, Moss, Truist and Uber.

“The Florida Lottery is honored to partner with the Orange Bowl Committee on this remarkable initiative,” said John F. Davis, Secretary of the Florida Lottery. “By investing in the Media Center Makeover Project, we are improving the educational environment and fostering a brighter future for our students. Together, we are creating spaces where learning, creativity and innovation can flourish, so that every student has the opportunity to succeed.”

By integrating the latest technology into daily learning activities, students are given unparalleled access to information and opportunities for interactive learning experiences.

In addition, the new layout encourages collaboration on projects and group discussions, which promotes critical thinking and communication skills among students.
