Former U.S. President Donald Trump holds a campaign rally in Hialeah

The man who shot at former President Donald Trump last Saturday was identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old college graduate with a promising future. Crooks excelled at Pittsburgh’s Community College of Allegheny College, where he earned an associate’s degree in engineering in May.

Prior to the attempted assassination, Crooks had plans to further his education at Robert Morris University. Described as a thoughtful and polite student, Crooks left a positive impression on his teachers and peers.

One of his former teachers, who chose to remain anonymous, expressed shock at Crooks’ actions, citing his exceptional dedication to his studies. She highlighted a project Crooks completed on a chess set for blind players, which involved 3D printing and incorporating Braille, showcasing his meticulous approach to his work.

Tragically, Crooks was shot dead by snipers after firing shots at Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The incident resulted in injuries to the former president and the death of former firefighter Corey Comperatore.

Colleagues of Crooks mentioned his ambition to pursue a career in engineering, emphasizing that his violent actions were completely unexpected. The community expressed disbelief at the drastic turn of events involving a young man who had shown such promise and dedication to his academic pursuits.
