1611 Entertainment Launches ‘Goal for Mental Health’ Community Sports Event in Sagamu

1611 Entertainment Company successfully organised the maiden edition of the community sports event “Goal for Mental Health” on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at the Gateway Stadium in Sagamu, Ogun State. The event, aimed at promoting mental health awareness and inclusivity in the community, brought together students and professionals for a day of exercises, health talks, relay races and football matches.

According to Oluwaferanmi Oduyemi, Creative Director of 1611 Entertainment, the event was meant to strike a balance between work and health, while combating the stigma surrounding mental health. The success of the event, which saw participants from Lagos, Abeokuta and Sagamu, paved the way for an annual event, with monthly fitness routines to follow.

Oduyemi expressed his excitement over the turnout, saying: “The response was very encouraging and it is a sign that we are doing the right thing.” He also acknowledged the support of brands who shared the vision, which ensured the success of the event.

“This event is also intended to bring more inclusivity to the Sagamu community, which is why most of our brand supporters have come on board to make the vision a reality.

“The next edition will be better and bigger,” said the creative director.
