One injured in police investigation into illegal march and attacks on officers in Northern Governorate

Manama, July 20 (BNA): The Director General of the Northern Governorate Police Office confirmed that a group of individuals participated in an illegal march on public roads in Diraz village and other areas. The march was in response to calls for unlawful incitement, for which warnings had been issued earlier.

The Director General stated that these individuals approached police officers with the intention of preventing them from carrying out their duties. The participants engaged in rioting, vandalism, blocking public streets and throwing iron bars and stones at police officers.

He explained that the participants of the meeting were warned about their violations of the law, but they did not comply. This required action in accordance with legal protocols to protect property and persons. As a result of the confrontation, one participant was injured.

The relevant authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident, including the police response, in accordance with established rules and procedures. In addition, the authorities are investigating the incitement calls related to the event to verify all the facts regarding the incident.
