Tiger Stadium Named Best College Football Stadium by ESPN

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — LSU’s Tiger Stadium has been named the best college football stadium in the country, according to a Top 25 list of college football stadiums compiled by ESPN’s college football journalists.

Fourteen of ESPN’s college football writers were asked to rank the best stadiums in college football. According to ESPN, 20 points were awarded for first-place votes, 19 points for second-place votes, and so on. 42 college football stadiums received at least one vote.

Tiger Stadium is ranked as the No. 1 college football stadium in the Top 25. According to ESPN, the home of the LSU Tigers received 247 out of a possible 280 points.

Rounding out the top five college football stadiums in the rankings are UCLA’s Rose Bowl at No. 2 with 209 points, Michigan Stadium at No. 3 with 182 points, Notre Dame Stadium at No. 175 points and Penn State’s Beaver Stadium at No. 5 with 172 points.

LSU is celebrating Tiger Stadium’s 100th anniversary with stadium upgrades. Upgrades to the stadium include new video boards and speaker towers, improved ribbon boards and new LED lighting, the university said.
