E-bike research calls for input – Northern Beaches Advocate

The New South Wales Parliament is asking the community for input on the increasing use of e-bikes and e-scooters.

Member for Pittwater Rory Amon has called on Northern Beaches residents to have their say on the growing use of electric bikes and scooters. Mr Amon raised the issue with the government in response to issues raised with him by constituents, and welcomed the parliamentary inquiry.

“I have heard many concerns in the Pittwater community about the safe use of e-bikes. Given the potential benefits of e-bikes, it is important that all safety concerns are addressed.

“Having written to the Prime Minister, the Minister for Transport and the Minister for Police on several occasions and received unsatisfactory responses – or no response at all – I am pleased that Parliament is exploring options to keep both travellers and the community safe.

“I encourage anyone in the Pittwater community with experience of electric active transport options to make their views known to the inquiry,” said Mr. Amon.
