Breaking News LIVE: FBI Provides Update on Attempted Assassination of Donald Trump

Regarding the attempted assassination of former US President Donald Trump, the FBI said he was hit in the ear by a bullet during an assassination attempt on July 13. On Friday, the FBI sought to clarify what happened after nearly two weeks of confusion and conflicting reports.

The FBI said in a statement Friday evening: “What struck former President Trump in the ear was a bullet, either whole or in smaller pieces, fired from the decedent’s gun.”

Breaking News LIVE: Over 5,800 people relocated from flood-hit areas in Maharashtra’s Kolhapur, 54 roads closed

The Kolhapur District Administration has relocated 5,849 people from 1,379 families from flood-affected areas, including 5,116 from the Karveer tahsil alone, as the Panchaganga river continues to flow above the danger zone. At least 54 roads have been closed due to rising water levels.

A daily report from Disaster Management of Kolhapur District Administration said the danger level was 43 feet, but the Panchaganga River was still above the 46-inch (13.8-meter) mark as of 11 p.m. on July 26.

The district administration has also started relocating people from affected villages such as Chikhli, Ambewadi Bhamate and Haldi of Karveer Tahsil, the worst affected area.

The government has relocated 5116 people from Karvir Tehsil alone. A total of 5849 out of 1379 families have been relocated to safer places and around 3080 pets have also been relocated to safe places by the government.

PM will chair the NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting on July 27

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair the ninth meeting of the NITI Aayog Governing Council on July 27. The meeting will focus on the document ‘Vikshit Bharat@2047’, which aims to transform India into a developed country, a senior government official said on Friday.

The council, the highest body of NITI Aayog, comprises all the state chief ministers, lieutenant governors of union territories and various Union ministers, with Modi as its chairman.

“The NITI Aayog Governing Council will meet on July 27,” the official said, PTI reported.

A vision document is being prepared to transform India into a $30 trillion developed economy by 2047, the centenary of India’s independence.

In 2023, NITI Aayog was mandated to merge 10 sectoral thematic visions into a unified vision for Viksit Bharat @2047. This vision encompasses various aspects of development including economic growth, social progress, environmental sustainability and good governance.

Orange rain alert for 8 districts of Maharashtra; yellow for Mumbai

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Pune and Satara districts in Maharashtra on Saturday, predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall. Meanwhile, Mumbai experienced moderate rainfall on Friday.

According to PTI, Mumbai has remained largely dry after nearly two days of heavy rain. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for the city and neighbouring Thane district for Saturday. Heavy showers are forecast in isolated areas.

In addition, the IMD has issued an orange alert for Chandrapur, Gondia and Gadchiroli districts, indicating possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated locations.

According to the IMD, no orange alerts have been issued for any district in Maharashtra from July 28 to 30.
