Youth Parliament gives Rajasthan students legislative experience

The Rajasthan Assembly on Saturday organised a mock session in the legislative assembly, known as the ‘Youth Parliament’, inviting students from 41 schools. Participants played the role of representatives of the people, including the Prime Minister and the Speaker.

Organised by the Rajasthan chapter of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, 181 students participated in this unique educational programme, simulating legislative procedures, asking questions and debating on topics such as school safety, tuition fees and food adulteration.

Speaker of the Assembly Vasudev Devnani stressed the importance of educating young people about legislative processes. The programme aimed at fostering understanding of parliamentary democracy and promoting active, informed citizenship among the young participants.
