500-year-old law student from Nasarawa State University murdered — ABN TV

A 500 level law student of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Mr Baba Jazuli, has been reportedly murdered by an unidentified gang near Akwanga town, the headquarters of Akwanga Local Government in Nasarawa State.

A fellow student of the deceased, Mr Jibril Usman-Umar, who confirmed the horrific incident on Saturday, stated that the victim was killed in Angwan Mada area, a village adjacent to Akwanga.

“The victim was brutally attacked and slaughtered to death by unknown persons on Friday evening,” he said.

Usman-Umar added that until the incident occurred, the victim was the Chief Justice of the NSUK-LAW court.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Nasarawa State Command, DSP Ramhan Nansel, told journalists that the command received information about the attack at around 5pm on Friday.

He said: “The judge (Jazuli) boarded a commercial motorbike from Rinze to Rinze junction after closing time. Upon reaching Risha village, he was attacked by 3 unknown men armed with machetes, sticks and a gun. He was beaten and finished off with machetes.

“Upon receipt of the information, police operatives from Gudi Division immediately rushed to the scene of the crime. The victim was taken to Akwanga General Hospital where he was confirmed dead and the corpse was transferred to the same hospital for autopsy.

“The police commissioner has ordered a full investigation to unravel the faces behind this cowardly act and to commiserate with the family over the irreparable loss and pray to God to console them in a special way. He further assured them that justice will be done.”
