Saturday night, Ricky Skaggs invited Steven Curtis Chapman to become the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry.

Chapman said, “I can’t tell you how surprised I am. This is a huge surprise. I had no idea, and I feel so honored and just so grateful. What an amazing family to be a part of. I thought when I started singing on this stage tonight, I really did, this is my favorite place to sing these days. I feel at home; I feel like this is my family. Everybody here. I feel so honored to be a part of this family. Thank you guys. Thank you, Jesus, and thank you all.”
