Floyd Mayweather had a special guest with him when he walked to the ring on Saturday to take on John Gotti III.

The legendary boxer was accompanied by Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis when he entered the ring in Mexico.

Although Mayweather officially retired in 2017 when he defeated Conor McGregor in 10 rounds, the “greatest ever” has been active in exhibition matches, taking part in seven fights since 2018. Three of those were wins, two were no-wins and one, against Gotti in 2023, ended in a no-contest.

There was a lot of drama in the last meeting between Mayweather and Gotti. The fight was stopped in the sixth round after a lot of back and forth which resulted in several fights between the two fighters.

When it was announced that Mayweather and Gotti would be facing each other again, there was a lot of anticipation surrounding the fight. After the last fight ended in a no-contest, Saturday’s fight will have many implications.

Mayweather had a lot of power when he entered the ring and he hopes Davis’ presence will give him the edge.
