Florida Gators selected to host SEC Nation for week one

Despite the Florida Gators’ struggles over the past three years, they’re still one of the biggest brands in college football and the SEC. And that sentiment was confirmed when SEC Nation announced on Wednesday that they would open the season in Gainesville for the Gators’ game against the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday, August 31.

This isn’t the first time SEC Nation has picked Gainesville, though. Florida has hosted SEC Nation 11 times in the past, six in Gainesville, since its inception in 2014. It’s been three years since the Gators hosted them, though. SEC Nation was last in town when the No. 11 Gators took on No. 1 Alabama in the Swamp in 2021.

SEC Nation also visited Camping World Stadium in Orlando in 2019 when Florida defeated Miami.

Their appearance on SEC Nation this year puts the Gators tied with Georgia for second place in the rankings for most frequent hosting appearances on the show.

Furthermore, the Gators will most certainly have the opportunity to add to that number. this seasonIn addition to the home games against Miami, they will also play Texas A&M, Kentucky, LSU and Ole Miss in the Swamp this year.

For those talking on the show leading up to kickoff, there will be two former Gators on the panel. Florida grad Laura Rutledge is hosting her eighth season of nine, and Gator legend Tim Tebow is also on the panel. They’ll be joined by Paul Finebaum, Jordan Rodgers and Roman Harper.

If the sold-out match is any indication of the amount of fans who will support the first week, then we can expect this week to be packed as well.
