Who is Mark Henry?

Mark was born in East Texas in 1971 and quickly became a wrestling fan. He was a big fan of French wrestler André the Giant.

He struggled in school. He was diagnosed with dyslexia at age 14 and later scored less than 700 on the SAT test. However, he excelled in both powerlifting and American football.

The Los Angeles Times called him “the world’s strongest teenager,” and by the time he graduated from high school, he had broken state and national records in all four powerlifting categories.

The teenage sensation made her international breakthrough at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, where she finished tenth in the super-heavyweight class.

Three years later he won gold, silver and bronze medals at the Pan American Games.

In 1996, WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) signed the star, with whom he remained for nearly 25 years, eventually earning the title of “World’s Strongest Man”.

Mark retired from WWE in 2021, telling the Insight podcast that he was denied a job behind the scenes.

He said: “From a business perspective, I wanted an office job because I didn’t want to wrestle anymore, and they wouldn’t hire me.

“I had no experience in the business side, or the corporate side, or the executive side, or whatever you want to call it… I wasn’t given that opportunity.”

Mark has a wife, Jana Henry, and two children: daughter Joanna Henry and WWE wrestler Jacob Henry.

Why is Mark Henry’s death trending?

It’s unclear why rumors of Mark’s death are resurfacing, but the World’s Strongest Man has been the target of many celebrity death hoaxes throughout his career.

In 2011, he was rumored to have died during a live episode of SmackDown after being assaulted by Paul Wight, aka Big Show.

The wrestling world has a history of dramatic and sudden deaths, which may have prompted fans to create similar stories.

WWE (then WWF) wrestler Owen Hart famously died off-camera during the Over the Edge pay-per-view event.

The next day, Mark was seen crying on an episode of Raw is War.

On this occasion, users used X to share the news of Henry’s alleged death, with one saying: “Finally Mark Henry is gone!”

Another joked: “Why do the MFS keep trying to kill Mark Henry????”
