2K Games Added Denuvo to NBA 2K25 at Launch

Well, we knew something was wrong. When 2K Games launched the Steam storefront for NBA 2K25, there was no mention of the Denuvo anti-tamper technology. This was an attempt to completely mislead PC gamers, as the company didn’t even include Denuvo in its EULA. However, now that the game has released, 2K Games has added the Denuvo anti-tamper technology to the storefront.

As I wrote in my previous article.

“Also, NBA 2K25 may not have Denuvo. That, or 2K Games simply didn’t include it to mislead its PC customers.”

Yep. 2K Games purposely left Denuvo off the Steam store page. Its inclusion shouldn’t come as a surprise, of course. NBA 2K24 used it, after all. So it was almost a given that NBA 2K25 would use it too.

NBA 2K25 also requires a 2K sports account. This appears to be a mandatory requirement and not an optional one, so keep that in mind as well. But again, if you played NBA 2K24, you already have a 2K account created.

Earlier this month, 2K Games revealed that the PC version will have Ray Tracing. These RT effects will only be available in The City. 2K Games did not clarify whether these Ray Tracing effects will appear on consoles. We also do not know how the developers will use RT. Will they simply enhance the game’s reflections? Or will they take advantage of RTGI?

The game currently has mixed reviews on Steam. For those wondering, the game is already available for those who pre-ordered it. The rest can play it on September 6th.

Finally, you can find the official PC requirements here . So if you are interested in this basketball game, I recommend you to check them out.

2K Games did not provide us with a PC review code. Since our audience is not as interested in this game, we may not review it. Yes, this year’s PC version is comparable to the current-gen console version. However, the NBA 2K games have never had a benchmark tool. So it can be difficult to benchmark it. Different camera angles can give you completely different results.

Anyway. If you show interest, we’ll cover it. If not, we’ll skip it.

Stay tuned for more!
