warming trend at the beginning of the week; tropical downpours at the end of the week

MONDAY: A cool start to your new work and school week in the Mid-South will give way to a quick warm-up on Monday. Morning highs in the 50s will climb to the lower and mid 80s with continued sunshine and low humidity. We’ll remain calm and mostly clear tonight with lows in the upper 50s and lower 60s.

TUESDAY: More sunshine expected through Tuesday with a rapid warm-up in the afternoons. Expect morning temperatures in the 50s and 60s to upper 80s to near 90s with sunny to mostly sunny skies. Humidity will gradually increase but not to extremes. Lows will drop to the mid to upper 60s as cloud cover increases.

EXTENDED PERIOD: All eyes will be on the Gulf of Mexico through midweek as a tropical low becomes visible in the latter part of the week. FIRST WARNING Increasing clouds, a chance of rain, and even a risk of a few severe storms as the low moves north along the Mississippi. Clouds will thicken Wednesday, with highs still in the upper 80s to near 90. Rain chances will increase through Thursday, along with gusty winds as the low moves overhead. Rain and gusty winds will continue through Friday before tapering off into the weekend. Stay tuned to the weather and we’ll keep you updated.
